Abstract

The era of regional autonomy which officially took effect in Indonesia since January 1, 2001 requires regions to be creative in finding sources of income that can finance local governments for governance and development. In this regard, local governments must be careful in managing existing financial sources, especially those originating from regional taxes and regional levies. The potential income of each region is certainly different depending on the condition of natural resources and so on, therefore each region places a different emphasis on each source of regional income. This study tries to examine parking management in Pekalongan City, especially after the enactment of the Pekalongan City Regulation Number 1 of 2017 and what factors are the obstacles to the implementation of the new Perda. Qualitative descriptive approach used as a method in this study. This study concludes that parking management in Pekalongan City is still relatively bad. This is marked by poor parking services provided and the target of receiving parking fees that are not on target. Transparent and accountable management can be a breakthrough so that good parking services and parking retribution revenue targets can be achieved.
